New Business and Developments

Charleston County has broken ground on the new Awendaw Fire Station #7 on Guerins Bridge Road just off Highway 17.  The station will include offices, support spaces, a day room and sleeping quarters for the crew, two garage bays for fire apparatus vehicles with the ability to add an additional future bay for either fire apparatus or an EMS vehicle. Construction is expected to be complete by May 2020.

Awendaw Village is a new residential community on Highway 17 just half a mile north of Sewee Outpost that combines the amenities of living in town, with the feel of being out in the country. Situated on over 100 acres of land, only 41 homesites will be built with lots ranging from .5 to .8 acres and all homesites backing up to protected woods that will never be developed. The "village" will also include a 7,500 square foot office building in the first phase with two more offices to be built at a later date.

Awendaw Lakes is a new neighborhood on southern Doar Road that will eventually have 30 homes.  Lots sizes range from one to three acres. With eight ponds scattered throughout, most lots are situated on a private pond.

Best Pre-Owned RV’s is relocating from Clements Ferry Rd to 6475 N. Highway 17. This 14 year old business will continue to remodel, sell and service motorhomes, campers and 5th wheels.  “As New as Used Will Ever Be.”
